For the past week, Iāve been looking back at these images and thinking about everything that went into getting the shot. It made me reflect a little more on the way I work, and Iāve learned that not everything goes as expected, but that doesnāt take away from what was created.
Thank you to the friends around me, both in and outside the industry, who showed this set of photos so much love and reminded me that my work is still worth putting out there! Special mention to my fav @denisekellerofficial who was my unwavering rock of support through it all šŖØ
But the highlight of the experience was how @miksyx and I worked as a seamless team. The second outfitās shoot needed to be kept as brief as possible and I just pointed the camera without even seeing where Mike was holding our flash once haha! Mike also said that he had no clue how the shot was looking like! š¤£ It was pure 100% trust in him and Iām proud of what we achieved in that couple of minutes. Thank you again for being such a solid teammate on that day. Definitely one my favourite stories to tell from this yearās Star Awards š

from the moodboarding process, to planning, to the actual shoot itself + editing with that quick turnaround for that golden posting time, it was all such a joy! š always so proud of the work that we get to do together. and i canāt wait to do it all over again!
i learned a lot through this experience about myself as a creative!!! always thankful for everyone whoās given me an opportunity to point a camera at them. iāll continue working hard š„¹š

When I told Regene I wanted to shoot a roll of film with her, I knew sheād come up with something fun. We braved the blazing afternoon sun for this, shooting in random nooks and crannies around Orchard. Also, this set solidified my love for Fuji 200! I love the way it renders colours, especially skin tones š§

This was from a test roll we shot while waiting for our lunch delivery to arrive! Somehow I love this set so much despite its simplicity. Maybe bc it reminds me of all the times we spent in this room laughing our heads off haha
This was lit with one constant light from the side, and Iām honestly surprised by how the colours turned out in the final images! I didnāt expect this result, but I really love it!!!

Iāve always tried to recreate the look of film in my digital edits, so it felt like the right time to finally step into actually shooting film.
Using an analog SLR and stripping everything back to the basics made the process feel more fragileā¦. Knowing there are only 36 frames, and that exposure and focus needs to be checked thoroughly before every shot was quite daunting at first, but I ended up enjoying the intention that went into the final images. Looking at the results, each image feels alive in their own way, which is a feeling I hadnāt felt in a while when shooting digital! Iām obsessed haha
