鎌倉に住むアッキーが仕事で岐阜に行くついでに僕を訪ねてくれた。彼と初めて出会ったのは、1999年の6月27日と覚えている。長いお付き合いだ。
Akki, who lives in Kamakura, dropped in to visit me whilst he was in Gifu on work. I remember meeting him for the first time on 27 June 1999. We’ve known each other for a long time.

彼女は、4月に肺炎で12日間入院して、今は元気に回復しています。僕も嬉しい。91歳になりました。
She was hospitalised for 12 days in April with pneumonia, but she has now made a full recovery. I’m delighted for her. She’s now 91 years old.

オーガニックのランチ（弁当）。よく見ると10種類のおかずが入っている。とても手間がかかる作業だと思う。そう料理人のことを思いながら食べた。ご馳走様でした。
An organic lunch (bento box). On looking closer, I saw it contained ten different side dishes. I imagine that must have taken a considerable amount of effort. I ate it whilst thinking of the person who cooked it. Thank you for the meal.

ゴールデンウィークは、庭の樹々の剪定をしてる。仕上がりは、いびつだがまあ満足。ちなみにこの木は柘植です。
I’ve been pruning the trees in the garden over the Golden Week holiday. The result is a bit of a mess, but I’m satisfied enough.
By the way, this tree is a Japanese boxwood.
