Big shoutout to @martijnmelis who got on a plane to Prague to lens the video for us so beautifully, and became a real guiding light in making this idea what it has become on screen.
We also absolutely need to thank @matej_kos and his team for leading the production design and joining us on the second adventure, having worked with us on Push. He and @michal0jaluvka spent countless hours researching how to make the black liquid safe, how to make it look great, how to make it actually wash off, and finding brilliant solutions to all the other mad ideas we threw at them. Absolute legends.
Then there is @petraptackova , who was actually the inspiration behind the sword fight and gave us her incredible fashion designs, of which we are both huge fans, to style both actors, then watched us destroy her one sample in a fight. Along with @kuku.laboratory , who lent us her beautiful, fluid form jewellery.
And a big final thank you to our partner in crime and brother @palmeerek of @closer.video films, who was brave enough to take on this enormous challenge with us, single handedly producing and holding everything together with his calm energy, all while welcoming his firstborn daughter into the world. The man is unstoppable.
And to the production companies that believed in us enough to make it possible: @futurefrank.xyz , @la_pac and @roguefilms , headed by @flyingjed , @curlykatetaylor , @howland.james and @_miguel_ .
And a special mention to two of our biggest fans who showed up on set in the last pic.
A special mention to all the incredible post crew on this film, the people who managed to pick up the rushes and shape this with us into what it became.
Firstly, to @hannahyerbury , who gave so much of her time and amazing talent, slowly chiseling this into what it has become and centering it all. An incredible talent and editor. Produced by @lola_life . With creative support by @pattopotatoes .
Then there is the whole team at Agile Films post @agilefilms , who have given an enormous amount of time and resources. Led by @davidtheanimator , with Kevin Marienâs artistry, produced by @em_bewls , with online by @natalyaholley . We really couldnât have finished this without them.
A wonderful grade at @blackkitestudios with @thomasmangham , colour produced by @jami.emccubbin and assisted by @simone.chiavini.colour , @james_pitsielis , and @billysonofdaw .
And sound by my OG @neilkjohnson , adding that third dimension we needed and giving the fight the power it needed.
This is what makes a project like this worth it, working with people we call friends and creative collaborators. Stretching very limited resources also means a lot of energy is expelled in the process, but every one of these people picked us up when we needed it and gave us that final energy and push to make this a bigger and better video than we had the resources for. We are eternally grateful to each one of our dear creative and talented friends.
Special post for the stars of the video, Georgia Curtis @georgiaamoducurtis and Dan Styles @actiondanstyles .
Once we had the concept, it was quite challenging to find someone with that level of acting and sword skill at the same time to tell this narrative. We must have gone through over 100 people, and none of them quite hit what we were after, to the point that we werenât sure we could actually make the video. Until we had a chat with Georgia, and suddenly it all clicked. The amount of work and bravery she gave us to make sure we got the video we were after is enormous. Weâre truly grateful to have found such a collaborator in her.
The same goes for our other star, Dan, who had to deal with two people who hadnât choreographed a fight before, on an incredibly ambitious four and a half minute song where the fight had to tell a story. No budget and no time before we convinced him to get on a plane to Prague with Georgia and somehow put it all together with two days of rehearsal time.
And yet somehow we did it, with them giving us their trust and energy, that we would make them look good on screen through our sheer will and blind belief. That kind of trust is rare, and itâs what Joe and I keep coming back to when we think about this one.
Thank you. đ¤âŤď¸
Somewhere in the middle of all that noise of seduction, destruction and suffocation, someone decides to fight back.

REACH OUT AND GET OKâa new ambient track (link in bio)
The world is swirlingâfires, electric storms, a lot of reckoning all at once. Big shadows growing, but breaking through.
I wonder why I take it so personally, as the same reckoning has been happening to me. I keep reaching for the musicânot just to listen, but to swim in it. Slow the rate, slow the time. Do the good work amongst all of this, constant forward motion. Sound upon sound, trying to keep the oscillators in tune, keep things in key, keep myself on the frequency.
This trackâit just happened over time. Already out there, waiting. I just had to reach into that plain and pull it through. The weird truth of making thingsânever about control, but being a good shepherd for whatever wants to exist in this world.
To the people who stood there, who reached out, who kept me from drifting too far. Thank you.
I hope it takes you somewhere warm, somewhere soft. A quiet place in all this noise. Give it a few spins. And if it resonatesâreach out, and share it too.
Emile
We still donât have any memory of how Joe Connor and I met. We were aware of each other through work friends. On one very wintry shoot in Toronto, the cinematographer we both work with mentioned Joe had an album. I spent the rest of the trip obsessed with it. I was both enthralled and jealous of his talentâbeing able to put out an album that actually bears listening to over and over. It captured this feeling of constantly being away from home, on set, lost and finding the way back.
Then the pandemic hit, and frequent chats led to us making our first song together. A release on a label made us realize we could do this seriously too, together. We both found ourselves in the present day UK, grappling with the enormous, far-reaching consequences of its decisions, the constantly shifting and changing film industry, and all the AI thatâs coming for all of us.
I feel like itâs all right there in the songs. This EP is all about crumbling cities and structures and us trying to make sense of it all. âLost Drumsâ is one of themâ this song is mostly Joe. It starts slow, then builds into this rage, into light and joy, and back again.
Iâm a fan.
