So I will be playing a show in #joshuatree Saturday night at the @beatnikloungejt with my buddy Bill Bell. He will be playing a beautiful metal sculpture called the #crustacean while I augment and process the sounds he makes. Show starts at 8PM and there are some other interesting projects playing too!
There’s two things I like: brilliant artists and chocolate cakes that look like giant eyeballs. So last night was really good for me. Thank you @zara_kand_art and @laluzdejesus for putting on an awesome show!
So here’s a little journey through some of the stuff I made at the @yuccavalleymaterial welding and patina workshop this weekend. You start with a rather wonky sounding bell and then move up to a really smooth sounding bell and then a little sculpture for Julie (who bought me the class for Xmas) and then ending on a clunky test bed for some piano ideas I’ve had rolling around my head a while. What an amazing experience bouncing ideas off of other artists and gaining so many new skills. Material Lab is such an amazing place and a new model for education in this country.
