Dear IG Family and Friends ... I have a Life Update 💔 to share with you. February 1st will be my LAST day at WFAA. I want to be honest and transparent with you all. The future of local television news is changing. TEGNA (the company that owns channel 8 and many other stations across the country) is restructuring. Unfortunately, a decision was made to dissolve my position as the weekend morning anchor / reporter. As you can imagine, I am heartbroken to say the least. This was my dream job! Seven years ... went by pretty fast. It has been an honor to work with such a talented team and to share stories that matter — stories of people and organizations making a difference in our community. My hope is to continue that effort. I'm also so thankful for the forever friendships that I’ve made in and outside of the newsroom. I’m sad to turn this page, but I’m also really excited for what lies ahead and the new adventures that await. Call me crazy, but I still love this industry. Lol! THANK YOU to everyone who has been rooting for me along the way. I believe God makes no mistakes, meaning every action is part of a divine plan. The BEST is yet to come! Hello February ❤️💋 With the Grace of God, I can’t wait to meet and hold my little baby this month. Confession 🗣️I’ve never had a real deal personal photo shoot. So, this maternity shoot meant the world to me! Capturing a moment, I didn’t think was possible. The photographer, Oshey Vargas made me feel soooo special and beautiful. Okkk Saturday 💛 Spent the day at the 6th Annual Black Heritage Celebration at the @thedallasarboretum and what a beautiful tribute to Black culture and community. I had the honor of emceeing the fashion show, curated by the incredible arboretum board and @williejohnson3 creative team behind this year’s celebration. There wasn’t an empty seat in the house! And can I just say …. it absolutely made my day when people I’d never met told me they watch @nbctexastoday . That truly made me smile. Hello May 🌼 April showers bring May flowers … And we’re so happy to share our little family is growing. It still feels a bit unreal that I’m about to be a mommy to two little men. The journey to get here wasn’t easy (again), but it’s been so worth it. Every day I look at Conrad ... his loving, big personality and I just know he’s going to be the most amazing big brother. Infertility Awareness Week 🤍 If you’re trying… and nothing’s happening, I see you. I was you! When my husband and I started trying, it just … wasn’t happening. I remember opening up to my mom, and she told me to keep praying because Sarah (from the Bible) got pregnant at 90 years old. Lawd! 😩🤦🏾‍♀️ And yes, I believe in the power of prayer. I truly do. But I also believe God places people, knowledge, and resources in our path for a reason. For us, that meant going to an infertility doctor. I found Dr. Julian Escobar on social media! @drjulianescobar He was LOUD about infertility. His team gave us something we desperately needed: understanding, options, and a sense of control in a moment that felt so dark. Very dark! Lol. So if you’re reading this and you’re in that space right now. Please don’t give up. Ask questions. Advocate for yourself.
