Ottawa born and bred, she represents our nation’s capital by singing comedy songs about Jennifer Coolidge. So we pulled some strings and got the very talented Syd (Beth's daughter) to create an unforgettable poster and WOW did they ever!!!!! Something new and exciting from Hello City! We are happy to announce Improv Basics with Colin McGuire, the first in a series of adult classes put on by the cast of Hello City! If you’ve ever thought of trying out improv, or are looking for your chance to get back on stage, here is the perfect chance! Join us for a fun, easy going learning experience that will help you build confidence on and off stage through exercises and games, giving you a chance to explore this collaborative art form in a safe and welcoming way. We will take you through the building blocks of improv, keeping everything simple and playful while giving you tools to create unique characters and scenes right away! Whether you have a bit of experience, or you are a complete beginner, this class is for you! Location: The Bus Stop Theatre Community Room Date & Time: Saturday afternoons, 1:00pm-4:00pm, March 14th-April 11th (5 Classes) Instructor: Colin McGuire Suggested Price: $225.00 If you have any questions, please reach out, we’d be happy to chat about the specifics. Dear Sweet Halifax, Valentine’s Day is here, and Hello City is back at it with Love Letters, an improv show inspired by YOUR love letters! In this hectic, chaotic world we often lose track of what really matters - telling the people in our lives how much they matter to us, and improvised comedy. LOVE LETTERS gives you the chance to do both important things! What we need from you: Write a letter to someone or something you love! It doesn’t have to be romantic love - it could be anyone or anything that you think of fondly. Friends, Pets, Places, Objects, Metaphysical Concepts, whatever! If you love it, write a heartfelt letter to it, bring the letter to the show, and we’ll read those letters on stage and use them as inspiration for our show. We will have pens & paper to write your own notes at the theatre, but feel free to write them at home by hand (or print them off if that’s easier).
