28 and feeling (more than) great 🎈 Feeling so incredibly abundant these days, but especially today. I could name a million and one things that I’m grateful for, but I’ll start with my bestie pal @maryyounglove the birthday queen/my favorite travel partner/the most thoughtful human I know. For the past 5 years I’ve been lucky enough to spend every birthday (except for one) with her. I’ve had some pretty good ones… swimming with dolphins in Mexico, spa experiences in Spain, beautiful brunches and yoga with friends. Every year I think that it can’t possibly get better than this. Not just the day itself but life in general. And somehow it always does. But not necessarily because it gets more and more grand… but because life feels more grand with age. Maybe it’s learning to better appreciate the simple things, falling more into who I am, finding my tribe of people, allowing my childlike wonder to come out more and play and be silly, or aspiring to be more in the present moment. It’s in the micro moments just as much as the grand ones where I’m reminded of the beauty of life. it’s enjoying a yogurt bowl with fruit, stretching and moving my body, sitting down and being still in meditation, bubble baths, having meaningful conversations with strangers through google translate or eating a piece of chocolate. Although I will say, the grand moments like waking up in a cave hotel to a bouquet of flowers from my human across the world, witnessing a sunrise sky full of hot air balloons in Cappadocia, or having a traditional Turkish bathhouse experience are like the icing on the already delicious cake 🎂

Rain or shine… will deliver 🫡 ✉️ Another beautiful year that came with new experiences, lessons, connections and challenges. Some highlights included: getting a plane ride over the city (thanks @wasabiwow ) learning new acro things and fire spinning, delivering mail on the pony express, tutu Tuesday twinning with dad, polo&pan, seeing people joyfully embracing the mud, stomping through it like children, covering themselves and others from head to toe, naked, laughing, carefree. The dance parties that continued on despite everything, the creativity in new art sculptures that came with the mud, the most beautiful double rainbow I’ve ever seen in my life, and as always, the connections made with old friends and new. Burning man can be a great teacher if you allow it to be. This year came with many lessons, one of them bringing me back to the quote that says “life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain” … and dance we did 🕺🏼

Hike an active volcano ✔️ 2 days of trekking 13,000 feet up in the air, past the clouds. Hiking in the rain, wind, and at night. Stumbling over rocks in the dark with only a headlamp for guidance all for the 50/50 chance of seeing the volcano erupt right above us. The clouds decided to stay so we unfortunately didn’t get the show we came for. However, seeing and feeling a volcano erupt in person - the ground shaking underneath our feet, the indescribable sound of rocks and lava tumbling down the mountain and seeing the lava flowing from base camp, was in itself a magical experience 🌋

2022 ✨ The year I moved to Mexico, swam with dolphins, climbed pyramids, visited one of the world wonders, went on a hot air balloon ride at sunrise, swam in cenotes, co-hosted my first retreat, did lots of acroyoga and surfing, went to burning man with my dad, attended soundbaths, women’s circles, estatic dances, breathwork sessions, made lots of beautiful connections and learned and grew so much. Bring it on 2023 🎇

Spun some fire, did some acro, met some beautiful humans (and one guy who said he was an alien ¿👽?), got stuck in a dust storm in deep playa for 5+ hours, twinned with dad for tutu Tuesday, became a federal post office employee for the week and waited in the infamous exodus line for 8 hours+ (8 hours, 15 mins to be exact) Feeling grateful that this beautiful event exists and already looking forward to returning back home next year ✨

Although the “Insta famous” Las Grutas didn’t disappoint, it was actually what was just around the corner that turned out to be my favorite part of this adventure. Hearing about the mystery of the natural thermal pools, swimming under waterfalls, and cave exploring were some of the highlights. Usually the most photogenic travel destinations are second to the hidden gems that you’ll only find by going a bit off the beaten path… and/or being lucky enough to have a local take you

As much as I love traveling with @maryyounglove we both agreed it would be nice to have some outside company once in a while.. jk jk But actually… In case you haven’t heard, Mary and I are hosting our very first “workcation” in Mexico City! If you’re a remote worker looking to experience a week in the life of a *digital nomad* this could be the perfect opportunity! ✨ The week will included a curated itinerary of all the best things to do/see in CDMX (including a boat ride on the historic Xochimilco canals pictured here) local culinary experiences, a stocked fridge with breakfast/snacks, and accommodation in a beautiful home located in one of the trendiest areas in the city! We have a pretty cool group of people already signed up and have ONE SPOT LEFT! More details can be found in my highlight titled “workcation” or you can send me a message with your e-mail for the full breakdown! #cdmx #workcation #travel #mexico #mexicocity #remotework
