May is Foster Care Awareness Month!💙
At Family Service of Rhode Island, we work alongside foster families and community support to continue creating safe environments for kids to thrive in. This month, we are encouraging Rhode Islanders to take the first step and learn more about how they can support kids, like Noah, who are in foster care.

Foster. Support. Take the first step. 💙
One of the most common barriers to becoming a foster parent is simply not knowing what to expect.
Here are some of the most asked questions we hear. You don’t need to have all the answers to begin. Sometimes the first step is just asking questions like this.

#ICYMI: I delivered $450,000 for Family Service Rhode Island’s Police GO Team. This program pairs social workers with law enforcement officers to support children and families after violence and crisis.
Proud to help bring these critical resources home for Rhode Islanders.

Yesterday was such a special reminder of what can happen when communities come together. 💙
FSRI’s GO Team currently partners with Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls, Woonsocket, Newport, Barrington, Rhode Island State Police, and the DCYF Child Protection Unit to help support Rhode Islanders during moments of crisis with care, compassion, and connection.
A huge thank you to @repgabeamo for helping secure federal funding that will strengthen this work and support the GO Team’s continued growth across Rhode Island. Also, thank you to @senwhitehouse for his constant support of FSRI.
So grateful to everyone working every day to make a difference in our communities.
