For more than 35 years, Deoshore has been a powerful advocate for children and families impacted by HIV/AIDS in Rhode Island. As a founding leader of the Family AIDS Center for Treatment (FACTS), she has helped advance HIV prevention, care, and education statewide while mentoring and training the next generation of HIV care professionals.
The Hope Harris Award honors the legacy of Hope Harris, an AIDS Project Rhode Island board member who worked tirelessly to fight stigma and expand outreach in the African American community. Deoshore’s lifelong commitment to this work makes her an incredible and deserving honoree.
