I loved this very fleecy moment...everyone was wondering where the snacks I had promised them [if they came out of the barn] were hidden 📷

A few days in Edinburgh and already I was itching to get out of the city…enter the Pentland Hills 🐑
Just a bus ride away and I was transported to a day hike’s worth of beautiful rolling hills and stunning pastoral scenes…one of my favorite days during my trip to Scotland 🥾
From a few weeks back, on the cusp of spring ❄️ 🌷
There is a certain magic in walking alone in the fog and snow. The air thick and muffled. The way mysterious and adventurous. Perhaps even dangerous.
Alone and moving through.
Feeling magic eyes looking back at you.
No one knows you’re there but them, the critters of the forest. And if you happen to catch a glimpse you do feel oh so thrilled.
And when you come across another human, you remember that others like this experience too. You nod in acknowledgment and move on, letting the fog envelope the moment and continue the search for magic eyes. 💫
2026 resolution : wake up early enough to see the year’s first light 💫
There, I did it. Resolution list accomplished for the year 😅

Strike a pose 🐐
We are so lucky to have regular sightings of the bouquetin in these parts, always a joy to come upon one while hiking 📷 ⛰️

Across the evening sky
All the birds are leaving
But how can they know
It’s time for them to go?
Before the winter fire
I will still be dreaming
I have no thought of time
For who knows where the time goes?

Sometimes, you just need a nap 🐂
This brown beauty is an Abondance cow, whose milk makes Abondance cheese 🧀 The cows spend their summers grazing up high in the mountains…follow the ring a ding of their bells to locate them ⛰️

Oh, hello 🐂 🌾
Curious cow peeking out through the flowers on a hike a few years back. In the end we had to move our lunch spot as apparently we were in the way of some serious munching 🏃🏼♀️🐂 🌾
