The Kent Backyard Ultra Series leaderboard has changed… again. For the third time this season, we have a new Series leader. That tells you everything about how competitive this series has been. Three events. Three different winners. Three different Series leaders. After huge battles at Vigo, Dover and Sholden, the race for the Kent Backyard Ultra Series title is still wide open. Every yard matters. Every decision to return to the start line counts. And the runners at the top have earned every bit of their position. With one event left at Bedgebury, the Series title is still there to be taken. One more start line. One more battle. One final chance to write the story. Massive respect to everyone who has stepped onto the start line this season. 🔥 Were you part of the Kent Backyard Ultra Series this year? Tell us which event you ran - Vigo, Dover or Sholden. #HellfireEvents #KentBackyardUltraSeries #BackyardUltra #EarnedNotGiven #OneYardAtATime

🔥 HELLFIRE NOD – WEEK 18 (2026) 🔥 Another huge week across the Nod. Marathons, mountains, 100 milers, and some serious time spent on feet. And with this week being UK Mental Health Awareness Week, it feels like a good moment to recognise just how much running can mean to people. Sometimes it’s racing, sometimes it’s training, and sometimes it’s simply getting out the door and clearing your head. 👑 Hellfire Nod Most Miles Bassit Briquech – 183.5 miles Bassit takes top spot this week after taking part in the Brathay 10in10 out in the Lake District. Day after day. Marathon after marathon. Proper graft. 👑 Hellfire Nod Longest Run Julie Bethune – 107.4 miles Julie takes the longest run crown after taking on the infamous Bridge 200. She gave absolutely everything out there, but this time it just wasn’t her day. Still an epic performance. Still a DNF to be proud of. 👑 Hellfire Nod Most Ascent Tommy Rutherford – 20,046 ft Tommy takes the ascent crown this week after taking on the Epona 100. Big climbing. Big effort. No easy miles out there. 🔥 Hellfire Hot 100 Rick Walton – 31.5 miles closes out this week’s list. A special shout out as well to Claire Harris for completing the Albion Running Westcountry Ultra 100. A proper effort. Another week that proves just how tough this sport can be. 👉 What does running do for you outside of racing and training? 👉 Has it helped you through a difficult time? Let’s hear it. 🔥 Full Hellfire Hot 100 in the comments 🔥 Strava Club link in the comments #HellfireNod #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #HellfireCommunity #EarnedNotGiven #UltraRunning #TrailRunningUK #BackyardUltra

🔥 HELLFIRE NOD – WEEK 17 (2026) 🔥 Strong week across the board. Big efforts, long days out, and plenty of miles being stacked up. 👑 Hellfire Nod Most Miles Andy Imms – 159.0 miles Andy takes top spot this week at the Portland Pig Backyard Ultra. A huge performance and another big Backyard result added to the list. 👑 Hellfire Nod Longest Run Andy Imms – 154.9 miles When you go that deep into a Backyard, the longest run usually tells the story. Long hours. Long night. Proper effort. 👑 Hellfire Nod Most Ascent Gonzalo Jr Alejandrino – 24,022 ft Big climbing from Gonzalo this week to take the ascent crown. That’s a serious amount of elevation. 🔥 Hellfire Hot 100 Ilona Morgan – 32.7 miles closes out this week’s list. Another competitive week across the Nod. The standard keeps moving. 👉 Who raced this weekend? 👉 Anyone building towards a big summer event? Let’s hear it. 🔥 Full Hellfire Hot 100 in the comments 🔥 Strava Club link in the comments #HellfireNod #HellfireCommunity #EarnedNotGiven #BackyardUltra #UltraRunning #TrailRunningUK

This is Jordan Stanton. AKA the Pound for Pound Heavyweight Champion. Jordan’s on a mission to get more bigger blokes active. And honestly? We’re all for it. He came to Sholden with one target: 100 miles. And somehow… Between the laughs, the energy, and keeping everyone entertained… He went and did exactly that. 100 miles earned the hard way. This is what people get wrong about events like this. You don’t need to “look like a runner.” You just need to start. We loved having Jordan at Sholden. And hopefully it’s not too long before we see him back in the yard again. 👇 Give Jordan a follow: @jordan__stanton Tag a mate who needs to get moving. #HellfireEvents #EarnedNotGiven #BackyardUltra #RunningCommunity #TrailRunningUK

This is David Laker. We met David in early 2024. He turned up and hiked his first event. No pressure. No expectations. Just getting round. Since then… He’s kept showing up. Now he’s running. Now he’s volunteering. Now he’s part of a running club. And you can see it. More confident. More comfortable. More himself. That’s what this is about. Not times. Not distance. People. Everyone starts somewhere. And everyone is welcome here. 👇 Tag someone who needs to see this. #HellfireEvents #EarnedNotGiven #RunningCommunity #TrailRunningUK

This is Chelseay Markow. First time stepping into a Backyard Ultra. No pressure. No expectations. Just turning up and giving it a go. And that’s exactly how it should be. Backyard Ultras can look intimidating from the outside. Especially when you don’t know what to expect. Especially when it’s at night. But here’s the truth. You’re not out there on your own. You’ve got people around you. You’ve got support. You’ve got a community that wants you to be there. Hellfire is proud to partner with SheRaces. Because this should feel: 👉 welcoming 👉 safe 👉 something you can step into with confidence If you’ve been thinking about it… Come with a friend. Tell someone you’re going. Be part of it. 👇 Tag someone you’d bring with you. #HellfireEvents #EarnedNotGiven #SheRaces #WomenInRunning #TrailRunningUK

This is Marcus Geer. First time at a Backyard Ultra. No idea what to expect. No idea how far he’d go. Just turned up. And then something happens. You start talking to people. You share laps. You sit together between yards. Strangers at the start… Not strangers by the end. In a world where everything’s online… This is different. Real people. Real conversations. Real connection. That’s what Backyard is. 👇 When was the last time you actually met new people doing something hard? Tag someone you’d bring with you. #HellfireEvents #EarnedNotGiven #BackyardUltra #TrailRunningUK

This is Luke Lynch. He turned up to Sholden not really knowing what a Backyard Ultra was. No big plan. No expectation. Just giving it a go. That’s how it starts for most people. Then the hours roll on. The doubts creep in. The legs start to go. And you find out pretty quickly what you’re made of. And something clicked. He didn’t just “try it.” He got it. That first taste of Backyard changes you. You stop thinking about “if”… And start thinking about “how far.” We’ll see Luke again. And next time… Don’t be surprised if he’s chasing an ultra. 👇 Be honest… When was the last time you tried something that actually scared you? Tag someone who needs to get out of their comfort zone. #HellfireEvents #EarnedNotGiven #BackyardUltra #TrailRunningUK

This is Lloyd Smissen. He came to Sholden with one goal: 100 miles. Not “see how it goes.” Not “just enjoy the day.” 100 miles. That meant: Turning up every hour. Running when it hurt. Running when it got dark. Running when most people had already stopped. And when it mattered… He didn’t fold. He delivered. 100 miles. Bronze buckle. Earned. Most people never find out what they’re capable of. They stop before it gets uncomfortable. Lloyd didn’t. 👇 Be honest… Could you keep going when it starts to hurt? Tag someone who’d take this on. #HellfireEvents #EarnedNotGiven #BackyardUltra #UltraRunning #TrailRunningUK
