#puracremafm

The Flashback Fridays, hosted by @sluggahjells , Post No.1 For April 24: 20th Anniversary Party 🎉 Post @christinamilian feat @jeezy “Say I” (Spring 2006) With the top productions of the time from the duo that is @coolanddre and the superb songwriting from the always talented @jazminesullivan , this one was certainly a banger two decades ago as it rose on the charts at its highest during this time, with the LA yards music video being a fine compliment with @raykayphoto directing. It’s the enjoyable “Say I” from the always solid Christina M and Jeezy, as the first #fbf choice. #flashbackfriday #friday #music #hiphop

The Throwback Thursdays, Special Edition, hosted by @sluggahjells , Post for April 23: 30th Birthday Anniversary Post 🤍⬆️🤍🎉 Bone Thugs-N-Harmony “Tha Crossroads” (April 23, 1996) The crown jewel of many gems from one of music’s greatest groups of all-time of @krayzie_bone @thereallayziebone @wishdogg @fleshnbonebtnh @mrmccane , it’s the glorious 30th birthday of this special singles’ release. A song and music video that will stand for the rest of time, it catapulted this unique Cleveland quintet into superstardom with their distinct rap singing, layered lyrical quality and unmatched lightning fast line deliveries. Consolidated by the perfect macabre yet hopeful instrumental from their great producer @timuneek , this flawless track of somber remembrance and yearning for a future afterlife reunion with love ones Up Above, including their meaningful mentor Eazy E, can make even rocks and, in this case, any thug cry. That was evident with that iconic image of Eazy E in the sky above at the end of its masterpiece of a music video. One of the few songs that can stake its claim of being the best to discuss life, death and Heaven Above with its iconic music video, enjoy this eternal soul that rightly spent eight weeks at No.1 on the Billboard 100. The third and final single of their second album “E.1999 Eternal”, it’s the incomparable tearjerker from the one and only @btnhlive “Tha Crossroads.”

When Disney tackled RACIAL PROFILING and prejudice. 🚨 THE EPISODE HITS HARD 🚨 I have never seen a kids’ show handle this topic with such nuance, rawness and truth. And this was in 2001. RIP 🙏🏾 Lee Thompson Young As a brotha who battles depression, anxiety, and self-worth everyday, you inspire me to keep going 🙇🏾 — The Famous Jett Jackson (1998–2001) Created by Fracaswell Hyman, the series follows Jett Jackson, a teenage TV star balancing life as the lead of a hit action show while trying to stay grounded in his hometown. Blending behind-the-scenes Hollywood with everyday teen life, it offered a unique dual-world perspective rarely seen on kids’ TV. A standout in Black television history, The Famous Jett Jackson gave audiences a young Black lead navigating fame, identity, and normalcy without losing his sense of self. It resonated deeply for showing Black success, family, and ambition in a layered, aspirational way. Fun fact: the show-within-the-show, Silverstone, added a meta element that made the series feel ahead of its time. — The Famous Jett Jackson is way overdo for a reboot 👀 Do you think we should, or was it only perfect for its time? Drop you thoughts below 💜

The Music Birthday 🎉Post, hosted by @sluggahjells , For April 8: Special 30th Birthday 🎉Anniversary: Michael Jackson “They Don’t Care About Us” (4/8/96) (Due to annoying IG Copyright, only screenshots for these 2 music videos) With just a few weeks away from the anticipated @antoinefuqua directed @michaeljackson ’s @michaelmovie film, it is fitting that the 30th birthday of arguably MJ’s greatest song, and unquestionably his most controversial song, is here. The rare song single with 2 different videos, both delivering real sentimental imagery and major backstories, “They Don’t Care About Us”, the 4th single from his 9th album, “HIStory Continues,” was unlike any of the typical global hit dance & love tracks from this icon. There was no @quincyjones , or Jimmy Jam @flytetymejam & @flytetymelewis or @janetjackson or anybody else on production for this very bold anthem. very bold, pro-Black, pro-human rights, anti-imperialism, moral anthem. Instead, this was all self-written and self-produced by Michael Jackson himself, adding to its unique standing in his classic catalog. And as mentioned earlier, a special two music video creation further cemented “They Don’t Care About Us” as a historic outlier. The 1st video was directed by Spike Lee all the way in Rio. That Brazil music video version of this special song has its own incredible backstory of conservative and Centrist Brazilian government figures strongly again it being made, concerned that it would harm Rio’s 2004 Olympics bid. But the support from the favellas to the majority of Brazilians for this song’s music video was not going to stop Michael and Spike’s creation despite how difficult it was to make. The second music video of filming in prison with him in shackles at times was rarely played compared to the Rio video. From police brutality to Black Americans, war crimes on children, Tiananmen Square protests and other human rights abuses, it too can claim its on remarkable status. 1 of the all-time amazing songs and music videos , enjoy the 30th B-Day of the extraordinary “They Don’t Care About Us.” #MichaelJackson #Birthday #Music #Wednesday #tbt
