Feeling so grateful this week for the opportunities I’m constantly gifted in my life 🙏 This week, @empire is hosting Super Bowl events in collaboration with @levis on our home turf, & my team is documenting it all. If you know me, you know I come from a football-obsessed family lol. We rep the 49ers, Raiders & Bears like we own the damn teams. But it’s more than just football to us.
My dad’s family immigrated to SF’s Mission District & my mom’s family immigrated to Chicago in the late 70s, at a time when the 49ers & Bears were untouchable. Leaving everything they knew in our Mexican homeland, cities like SF & Chicago became our new homes. Having on a Niners or Bears jersey became a symbol of pride, wearing our new hometown on our backs.
I’m beyond fortunate to have the career I have, & to work on the projects I’ve touched so far. But playing a tiny part in this year’s Super Bowl events is hitting different. I know THIS is something lil Jaz never imagined 🫶
