11/03 - Silvertable - 7pm @hell_aneleh Silver Table is an open space to talk, get to know new people and connect with other queers. In times of normalization of rising fas.cist propaganda, genoXXXides and re.pression room to gather is strongly needed, so let’s create that together! Some of us are coming frequently others join when they are around and every time we welcome someone new. We talk, get out our anger about what’s going on in the world, play games and building up a community, getting buddies for demos or events, open to plan things or just happy to have a space for sharing a drink. (Silver future has great alk free cocktails and good beer btw) Resisting starts in finding connection and holding space for each other - even if the form of it might look different every time. It took me so long to figure that I am not what people project onto me. I never fit in. And I don’t want to fit in. So now I am learning to rest and take care of myself. Even if that means putting on sunglasses or earplugs during work or not talking to anyone in a room full of people. I learned that from amazing people surrounding me. And I hope for everyone they can find spaces that let them do the same if needed. I do that, so that I have the energy to scream at those fu***ers who think they could take power away from us. If possible, from a stage. Our fight still lives on, even if we are taken down. It’s physics: It transitions. It moves. It changes. . Also in Theater Institutions people are marginalized like in all other systems that are inherently influenced by patriarchy and capitalism. So a place that holds some potential to give power to narratives and voices that are not heard enough, remains often a space of reproduction of what people want to see as normative.
