4:05am April 8th, 2025 I snapped this photo during a relentless snowstorm in Ottawa, Ontario. It was green for about a week and out of nowhere we got hit with the amount of snow you’d expect on Christmas Day. My life was changing significantly and during my sleepless night, this window caught my eye from the parking lot of the hotel I was living at. I called it “Relentless”.
Unknowingly I had been carrying 35 years of weight from my past traumas. I say unknowingly because I had done so much therapy around them and believed I had all the tools, all the knowledge, and had been “healed”. I mean I was married to a wonderful woman, my best friend, whom gifted me an incredible son. I had family, community, everything I ever dreamed of.
However, what I didn’t know was that even though I could smile and laugh again, I was living a life of fear. It’s how I responded to most things. They call it people pleasing, overworking, overthinking, and so many more things. I call it being totally disconnected from oneself.
My reactionary processes were beneficial until they ran me into the ground and ultimately made me someone I tried to avoid my whole life being.
Generational trauma carries through time in ways most of us do not understand. Sexual harms vibrate through the body. Abuse confuses the response systems and continuing to try and love and support others without knowing how to love yourself will be your downfall. It was mine.
A year from the day I moved into my new apartment, separated, unable to care for my son let alone myself has seen me truly heal in ways I thought I had before.
How do I know? The lingering hand of Death does not rest on my shoulder any longer (a comfort created at the age of 10), anxiety does not choke me out in ways that I try give too much, aloneness which was terrifying has become understood and comfortable, and the bottom line is my heart is bigger than it ever was. For my son, for my loved ones, my passions, and most of all…ME.
From never being able to look myself in a mirror with appreciation, acceptance, and admiration to today. Today, I love me for I know my heart and how I want to share it.💜

Sometimes when you put the right energy forward cool stuff comes your way.
This will be my first arena photography gig. Having picked up photography in 2021 and shooting my first show in a local bar in Ottawa in 2022 to being able to hit the @centrebell in MTL for @lambofgod , @kublaikhantx , @fitforanautopsy , and @sanguisugaboggband this year is an absolute gift! I love all these bands and some have personal attachments to me as a drummer and as a human with lived experience. LoG came into my life at 14 and never left, FFAA’s 2024 album ‘The Nothing That Is” carried me in 2025, I missed Kublai Khan TX in Ottawa before they blew up, and the Bogg has the greatest tone I’ve ever heard.
So much gratitude goes out to some ol’ k-town boys @ericmorotti666 and his brother @obeydastevie (for making first connection) for making a distant goal a reality now.
