Heights of Abraham @heightsofabraham We think we've found one of the best days out in Derbyshire....Heights of Abraham If you’re looking for a family day out that genuinely has something for everyone, I can’t recommend Heights of Abraham enough. Set in the stunning Derbyshire hills above Matlock Bath, this attraction is famous for its scenic cable cars that take you high above the valley with incredible views from the moment you step on. But it’s so much more than just a cable car ride… Your ticket includes: ✨ Cable car rides up and down ✨ Two fascinating underground cavern tours ✨ Walking trails and woodland paths ✨ Play areas for kids ✨ Exhibitions and historic buildings ✨ Viewing platforms with breathtaking scenery ✨ Cafes, picnic spots and gift shops There is honestly SO much for families to do here. We arrived expecting a few hours and ended up spending the entire day there — and still didn’t want to leave. 🕙 Opening times: Usually open daily from 10am, closing between 4pm–5pm depending on the season and school holidays. 🎟️ Current prices: Adults from around £27 online (£29.80 at the gate) Children (4–15) from around £16 online Under 4s go free. The ticket price includes all the main attractions, which actually makes it really good value for a full day out. Sky rides, cave guides, and the happiest little explorers 🚡⛰️💛 Such a fantastic family day we had at the Heights of Abraham over the weekend, based in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. The boys were in their element from start to finish and absolutely loved the cave tours!! 🪏💎 They have a cafe and restaurant with incredible views, 2 guided cave tours which one has a light / sound show, 2 children’s playgrounds, lookout tower view point, a Wombles exhibition and more 🍴☕️🍦 If your staying in the area it’s an absolute MUST! It’s not just a cable-car ride!✨ We were really surprised with how much there is to do, especially with the two adventure playgrounds and the cavern tour Extras we didn’t show in the video: 🦋 Butterfly trail along a little woodland walk 🗽 Willow sculptures to spot as well as little Womble doorways for kids to uncover around the grounds 💎 The Rockshop which is filled with gems 🍦 Ice-cream kiosk and a little van serving pizzas 🏰 And a tower to climb for amazing 360 degree views We had a really good tour guide for the caves (shout out Rachel) who kept it super fun and kid-friendly. Just bear in mind that there’s quite a lot of steps and it can be slippy so grippy shoes are best We did the trip there and back in one day from the North West, and it’s about 1.5-2 hours away from Manchester, Liverpool and Cheshire depending on where you’re based If you’ve been here before, we’d love to know what you thought! 🗺️ Heights of Abraham 📍DE4 3NT, Matlock 🎟️ It costs around £86 for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and under 4s go free, but all ticket info can be found on @heightsofabraham ’s website 🚗 They don’t have their own car park but there are four car parks around Matlock Bath which are pay and display. We used Matlock Bath train station car park and paid £7.20 for all day parking ✅🐶 Dogs are welcome in the cable cars and around the grounds while kept on lead. Dogs aren’t allowed in the caverns for safety reasons though! This really doesn’t feel like the UK 🤩 we went for the cable car and the views, but it ended up being so much more than we expected. one of those days out that’s actually worth the trip and enjoyable for everyone🤍 📍 Heights of Abraham, Peak District, DE4 3NT (and only around 90 mins from the North West) you could easily spend 3–5 hours here… and honestly we wish we’d made a weekend of it as there’s so much to do nearby. things to do at the top: 🚡 cable car to the summit 🛝 adventure playground 🧗 explorers challenge (obstacle course) 🦋 giant butterfly trail 🛍️ gift shop 🕳️ underground cave tour + light show 🐾 wombles experience 🎥 film theatre (sharing more about the history of the site) 🍦 ice cream shop 🍕 pizza van 🌄 viewpoints (Victoria Prospect Tower is unreal) 🍽️ hilltop dining at Vista Restaurant it’s dog friendly too 🐶 (they can’t go in the caves but you can take it in turns) 🅿️ we paid £6 for 4 hours the views on the way up were unbelievable and it felt so high… I hate heights but it genuinely felt like a bit of a bucket list moment for all of us 🤍 thanks so much for having us 🤍 Follow @familylifenorthwest for more family days like this ✨ AD #peakdistrict #ukdaysout #familydaysout #hiddengemsuk #northwestfamilies

We traded the everyday for the extraordinary on our girls weekend and visited the Heights of Abraham! 🦅 There’s nothing quite like soaring over the Derbyshire hills in a cable car with eight of your favorite people to make you feel on top of the world. From exploring the hidden depths of the Great Masson Cavern to soaking up those panoramic views from the summit, it’s was a day of pure magic, laughter, and high-altitude vibes. 🥂✨ Shout out to the actors, they are amazing, some of the best we’ve seen. Cable cars, caves and the BEST views… this one’s a family day out to remember 🚠⛰️💛 We spent the day at the @heightsofabraham in Matlock Bath and honestly, it had a bit of everything ✨ The cable car ride up was such an experience in itself — the views were absolutely stunning and had us all just sat there like WOW 😍 Once we got to the top, there was so much to explore! From heading underground into the caves (which the kids thought was SO cool 😆) to running wild in the outdoor play areas 🛝🌿 And the highlight for the kids? Meeting the Wombles 🥹💛 they were absolutely buzzing! 🌿HEIGHTS OF ABRAHAM WAS A FULL FAMILY DAY OUT OF FUN! It’s somewhere I’ve wanted to explore for such a long time, and it definitely lived up to it! Ad. Tickets were around £25 per adult and it honestly felt worth it for everything included — the cable car ride, guided cavern tours, and all the space for the kids to explore. The boys absolutely loved the caverns (so fascinating and a bit adventurous!) and the play area kept them busy for ages 👦👦 The café was great too — perfect spot to recharge and take in the views ☕️ I won’t lie though… I was not as brave on the cable car 😅 the views are incredible but definitely had me holding on tight the whole way up! 🚡✨ Heights of Abraham 🚡✨ Today we soaked in the stunning views over Matlock Bath from the cable cars. We explored magical caverns with a spectacular light show, and took in the incredible views at the top. The children then ran wild in one of two play parks.
