Every summer, we go out to hand harvest our oat tops. There is a brief week long window where this plant produces a rich milky sap before going to seed, and this fresh milk is highly nutritious while also restoring the nerves and improving and preserving dopamine levels, which is incredibly helpful for managing feelings of anxiety, dread or exhaustion. In this sick modern world we can use all the help we can get. I recently came across a pamphlet from the 1880โs citing a tincture of fresh milky oat as an effective treatment for opiate addiction. Itโs my opinion that milky oat is best taken in a tincture form, as the fresh milk itself can be greatly concentrated and preserved in alcohol. You can find it as the main ingredient in our โQuiet Placeโ formula.

I like to pick Nettle with bare hands. it makes me feel tough. Itโs also very good for circulation. Nettle can be harvested through April until May, when the Devil weaves his shirt of them.
This herb is highly nutritive and has been consumed by humans since at least the Bronze Age. Our ancient ancestors from Europe, temperate Asia, and Northern Africa most certainly ate nettle in the Spring, the hungriest time of year. (Nettles can now be found worldwide) Nettle is an abundant wild food source when we donโt douse it in glyphosate.
Our bellies may be full but most of us today still lack essential nutrients and minerals. This herb will perk you up when you are feeling weak and also acts as a very effective antihistamine, easing symptoms of seasonal allergies. We have a very effective tincture and tea blend for this purpose, which includes a great deal of locally farmed Nettle.
I find that my hair tends to grow much faster in the Spring, as I tend to consume a great deal of Nettle this time of year, fresh and dried in most of my meals. If you are exhausted or worried about hair loss you should be incorporating this herb on the daily. Nourishing broths, soups, pastas, hot or iced tea, the list goes on. Right now I am all about this Nettle cheese from @providorepdx

The cottonwood tree is part of the Salinacea family, which includes aspens and willows. All of the Populus species contain varying amounts of salicin and poplin, the precursors of aspirin that are anti-inflammatory. You can find cottonwood as the primary ingredient in our ๐๐๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฏ๐.

HISTORICAL RUNE MAGIC, ADVICE FROM A VALKYRIE, & A PAGAN PRAYER: ON THE VIKING AGE POEM SIGRDRรFUMรL
Presented by Hyldyr
Friday, March 13, 6:30-7:30
Free entry
Linguistically dated to the late pagan period of the Viking Age, Sigrdrรญfumรกl is a fascinating poem that features the voice of a valkyrie, here called Sigrdrรญfa (meaning โvictory-driver; victory-bringerโ). Awoken from her thorn-induced slumber, the valkyrie recites a pagan prayer to the gods before offering a horn of drink and feverishly reciting intense wisdom and runic magic to the hero.
Join folklorist Joseph S. Hopkins and linguist Lauren E. Fountain of Hyldyr for a discussion of Hyldyrโs recently-published comparative edition of the poem and toss back a few potions yourself brewed by the ethereal valkyries of Hedgerow Herb Co. (Image: Arthur Rackhamโs depiction of a scene in Richard Wagnerโs Ring Cycle inspired by the eddic poem)

Herbs can be helpful tools through times of grief and overwhelm. Here are some blends I recommend to ease panic attacks, nervousness, insomnia, depression, and disorientation.
Donโt Panic - immediately soothe an activated nervous system during distress or panic attack. Calming in small doses, sedating in high doses. I used to call this one the โStage Frightโ blend.
Quiet Place - a tonic for the nervous system. Regulate dopamine and gently soothe nerves.
Clear Mind - nourish cognitive function and memory recall.
Good Grief - support the emotional and physical heart, offering comfort and solace during times of sorrow or emotional upheaval.
Head Ease - eases tension and enhances circulation, providing soothing support for headache relief.
High Spirits - uplift and energize body and mind, fostering sustained focus and lifted mood throughout the day. Really beneficial for the sleepy depressive type.
Knock out - our #1 best selling tincture, fall asleep and stay asleep with this sedating, muscle relaxing blend.
