“New Deal… Going again”
In late October of 2025, I was given the opportunity to step in to be the Gaffer on an upcoming feature titled Thumb. It turned into one of those rare experiences that reminds you why we do this for a living. I was incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by people who are not only wildly talented and overqualified, but who I’m proud to call my friends. You all showed up for me when I needed the support and I don’t take a second of that for granted. From the bottom of my heart—thank you. I love you all.
Special story time & shoutout to 2 people
1) When I first got the call that I had the job, the very first person I called was Rob Riccobono. I knew it was a long shot to ask someone with your level of experience to come on as Rigging Gaffer, but I took the chance—and I’m so grateful you said yes. Your guidance, leadership, and steady presence meant more to me than I can put into words. I truly don’t think I could have done this without you. Thank you for everything, and I’m incredibly lucky to call you a friend.
2) Lucy… I’m not even sure where to start. You absolutely crushed it. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by my side during this opportunity. You made my job easier every single day, and I’m deeply grateful that I got to go through this experience with you. I know we both learned a lot along the way, and I have so much respect for the way you lead—with calm, strength, and heart. You’re a one-of-a-kind person & leader. Thank you for everything.
