Today’s Foto of the Day is by @hectorges "Taken from the back seat of a taxi outside Sealdah station, this photograph captures a brief moment of stillness inside one of Kolkata’s busiest crossings. Through the open window, the city appears framed and suspended: faces, movement, heat, noise, and the constant rhythm of people passing through. What interested me was the distance between the quiet interior of the taxi and the intensity of the street outside — two worlds sharing the same space, separated only by the frame of the car." Foto of the Day is part of our new Fotografiska Emerging online platform. Each week, we select seven images that tell a story and invite you to look closer. To submit go to our link in bio.

Agra invited me to shoot some night stuff. I am not a night photography lover, but the city gave me solething special. During the night, the stores were alive and gave me a chance to documentate it. #RicohGRIV #GRIV #shootgr

I’ve spent the past week exploring the streets of Barcelona with my Insta360 Ace Pro 2 the and the Xplorer Kit—and honestly, it’s left me genuinely impressed. Being able to capture this kind of street photography with an action camera… it’s one of those things that completely shifts your perspective. What once felt impossible now feels effortless, almost natural. This setup doesn’t just expand what you can shoot—it changes how you see. @insta360 @insta360es #insta360 #insta360acepro2 #insta360leicaawards

Under the bridge at Mallick Ghat Flower Market, there’s a different rhythm. Every morning in Kolkata, wrestlers train covered in earth—repeating rituals that feel untouched by time. It’s not just strength. It’s discipline, tradition and identity. Some scenes aren’t chased. They find you. #RicohGRIV #ShootGR_India #shootGR #GRsnaps

Héctor Ges was born in Barcelona. He started out shooting digitally and only more recently moved into film, after his father gave him a Pentax P30N that nudged him into analogue photography almost by accident. What began as curiosity quickly turned into something more lasting: a way of slowing down, paying closer attention, and finding stories inside a single frame. He describes film as something more real, more instinctive, and more alive than digital. The delay, the waiting, the limitation of exposures, all of it seems to sharpen his way of looking. Rather than treating the camera as a tool for endless repetition, he uses it to commit more fully to each image. That sense of spontaneity also shapes the way he works with people. He is drawn less to fixed ideas of portraiture than to personality, naturalness, and the small signals that reveal how someone wants to be seen. For Héctor, photography is not just about the photograph itself, but about the life, feeling, and story that gather around it. Check out more of his amazing work here 👇 📸 @hectorges
