We’re a generation that grew up in the heyday of
@mtv . Especially in our home country, the Czech Republic, in the 1990s, wild capitalism was rampant after the fall of the Iron Curtain and MTV was a source of taste for us, and not only musical taste.
Some of us didn’t even have cable TV at home, so we would meet up with friends at the homes of the more fortunate friends who had the option and were kind enough to invite us to watch at their homes. It sounds absurd in the optics of today, but they are special memories.
We first heard the Prodigy, Cypress Hill, maybe even Wu-Tang Clan on MTV.
As of tomorrow, MTV is officially ending the broadcast of those essential programs, and we thank them. This is a little tribute from us:)
We commemorate those moments with a look at a variation of the beautiful MTV logo designed by Manhattan Design.
