What if…?
What if racial identities were reversed?
A work by Tibor Kalman, published in issue No.4 of Colors Magazine.
This project reflects Kalman’s approach to political design: using familiar cultural figures to question how race, power and social status are constructed. It was also made at a time when digital image manipulation was still relatively new, which made this kind of visual transformation much more unexpected and unusual than it can feel today.
