In the world of film production there are many moving parts & when diverse personalities collide, you can try to lead by example but hope for the best. There will be many posts over the coming weeks from our beloved #oneshot franchise, having wrapped on the final instalment over the weekend, and knowing how much love there is surrounding the project. I wanted this post to stand alone, dedicated to my people for the last six weeks - and I hope I will be lucky enough to work with all of you again: @leannewhite_makeup - my SUPER super. You put 1000% into every task. Your loyalty to your team and to the franchise knows no bounds. Your work is flawless. Your team, including cast crew and production, adore you. I can’t thank you enough. You were the glue 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. @indiarosemua - I threw you head first into the deep end! You were brave and composed and took care of my leading lady with patience and grace under (sometimes literal) fire! Your makeups are stunning and you are very talented 💄. You kept me going through illness, pressure, support on set, and many many snack attacks! I’m so glad we met 🐌 (thank you @tallipachterhairandmakeup for finding this diamond!) @noa.waller you took a chance and said yes, before you even knew what you were in for! Brave and open, you are my lucky find, (thank you @vellismakeupandhair for the intro!!!!) - you brought fun and light, and your natural SFX (and other) skills at such an early stage in your career leave me in no doubt that you will go on to be a trailblazer. @stylist_net - Toni (with an I 😉) - thank you for lending us your #scissorhands and #hawkeye in prep. You are so talented, and we loved having you on our bus! All the lols and heart-to-hearts meant everything during a busy week. Let’s do it again soon, please! @ladygorejess - Jess! We’re no.1 on Netflix movies - woo hoo! Our original warrior passed away this morning. I remember the day she walked into our school, new and fascinating, and feisty. I knew the first moment we met we would be friends. She’d decided! Venetia tought me about caring less about bullshit, she told it how it was. Some people called her a trouble-maker but that’s what we were in early 90s Cape Town - “trouble makers”…. I.e. young girls who didn’t give a damn about authority, and who were fiercely protective of each other. We went off to do “life” - but as a group we have always been connected…. Emotionally, spiritually, and at least I got to say goodbye and “I love you, my friend”. Thanks @angieessel for keeping us connected till the end. Take me BAAAAACK! @mark_s_waters you are a #genius and a joy to create with. I haven’t been as excited as I am about this one, in a very long time. So proud of what we achieved. And I’m not gonna lie, what a priveledge to be there to contribute. So proud of my whole team (more posts to come with detailed credits) and special thanks to my #soulsister @freddiestoplermakeup for, well, just everything. I fell deeply, madly in love with every cast member on this shoot. We kept each other going in very difficult conditions (between 40-50C / 90% humidity every day)…. How lucky we were to be together on #phuket for 5 weeks, every day ending in the pool (our office), meeting new friends for life and having my partner in crime @freddiestoplermakeup with me keeping each other sane (well, relatively!)…. So many stories, so much love and support from our incredibly talented Thai team, all led by our one and only @mark_s_waters - I truly can’t wait xxxx
