Did you know that just beside our museum, in Kilmartin Churchyard, you can find an extraordinary collection of medieval grave slabs dating from the 10th to the 17th century? These beautifully carved stones, many linked to the Campbell family, feature warriors, swords, and intricate Celtic designs, offering a remarkable glimpse into Scotland’s past. This site is free to visit, and we highly recommend not missing it as part of your trip. #kilmartinmuseum #argyll #argyllandbute #visitscotland #medievalhistory

Spring has well and truly sprung in Inveraray and I’m buzzing like a bee on honey. It was great to take the time to stop and wander the place. All too often folk just zip through. If you’re interested in exploring more of what Argyll has to offer, then definitely check out @heartofargyll for inspiration, ideas and tips. This region has some of the very best that Scotland has to offer, which is why I’m out with my camera so often. #inveraray #heartofargyll #argyllandbute #midargyll #loveargyll

🌿Spring is one of my favourites times to forage. To savour the fresh spring greens that nourish us after winter and delight in the new growth, buds and flowers that burst forth lighten the mind and soul. 🌿And of course wild garlic comes high on our list of wild Spring ingredients to celebrate as we can do so much with this lovely native plant, from homemade miso and pesto, to salts, vinegars, kimchi and wild pickles and krauts, not to mention the many savoury dishes that it enhances with flavours from around the world from Laksa to Curries or Pasta. 🌿Join me for our Forage and Feast on Saturday 2nd of May for a delve into wild spring produce followed by a delicious three course lunch at the Argyll Beaver Centre where we will also be celebrating a selection of dishes made with wild garlic before it's season passes on once more. 🌿And having just returned from Borneo there will be the chance to try some Malaysian influenced wild garlic dishes too. You can book your place via our bio 😊

Just a short walk from the harbour in Tarbert, you’ll find one a unique coastal treasure trove – Shell Beach 🐚🌊 This little bay is carpeted with thousands of delicate shells. Tarbert’s sheltered waters make it an important fishing harbour, and generations of fishing boats have worked these waters. The shells scattered along the shore are a quiet reminder of the rich marine life that has sustained the community for centuries. Today, Shell Beach is a peaceful spot where you can slow down, listen to the water gently lapping against the rocks, and take in the beautiful views. Next time you’re exploring Tarbert, take the short wander along the shore and discover this hidden gem for yourself ✨ #HeartOfArgyll #VisitArgyll #Tarbert
