It’s not surprising that highly sensitive people are more likely to suffer from burnout, anxiety, and chronic fatigue. They’re constantly processing deeper and more detailed information, and it can be exhausting! 🧠 And because they’re so attuned to the needs of others, they often put their own needs last and can end up feeling physically and emotionally overwhelmed.😵‍💫 ☀️ But here is the good news: while it may seem counterintuitive, research also shows that people with increased sensitivity can learn to regulate their nervous systems MORE EFFECTIVELY than others! This means that even though you may be more prone to certain conditions, you can take steps to prevent them. 🚨Let’s break down WHY👇 If you have a sensitive nervous system, you are more prone to burnout for a variety of reasons. 1️⃣ You may be a perfectionist who strives for excellence in everything you do, and as a result, puts immense pressure on yourself. 2️⃣ You may also be sensitive to judgment by others, and feel like you constantly have to prove yourself. 3️⃣ You may be introverted and prefer to keep to yourself, which can make you feel isolated and unsupported. All of these factors contribute to an increased risk of burnout. 🔥 If you understand the factors that predispose you to burnout, you can take steps to protect yourself and prevent the condition from developing.
