Introducing Grayson, who has been volunteering at Nickโs House Boston during her spring semester at Northeastern University.
โI volunteer because I want to support individuals and families going through difficult times and be part of something bigger than myself. Being able to offer support has been incredibly meaningful, and Iโm grateful for the opportunity to give back.โ
Thank you, Grayson, for the impact you continue to make!
Every gift makes a difference. Because of donors like you:
$50 = a warm meal for a family
$100 = transportation to care
$250 = a night of lodging
Each gift means one less thing for a family to worry about during cancer treatment. Together, we turn generosity into comfort, hope, and dignity at Nickโs House. Be the reason a family has one less thing to worry about today.

Introducing Cathy, who has been volunteering at Nick's House Philadelphia since 2021.
"Cancer has struck my familyโmy father, my husband, and one of my grandsons have all been affected. What I have learned is that kind people make the journey easier so when I heard about Nickโs House the decision to volunteer was simple. Sometimes guests just need someone to listen. I share how wonderful Swarthmore is and make sure they know about local events. I let folks know that the Swarthmore College campus is an arboretum and open to everyone for beautiful walks! I leave my name and phone number because I live just a few blocks away and make sure they know Iโm available whenever they need. A part of retirement is reaching out to others and Iโm happy to help!"
Thank you, Cathy, for the impact you continue to make!

Introducing Xavier, who has been volunteering at Nickโs House Boston since Fall 2025. Currently pursuing his Masterโs degree in Cell and Gene Therapies at Northeastern University, Xavier brings a strong passion for oncology and patient care to everything he does.
"Volunteering at Nickโs House has been really meaningful to me. A lot of what I do is help out around the house and support Ashley, our program manager, with whatever is needed. It might not always involve direct patient interaction, but Iโve realized how important that kind of work is. It helps things run smoothly and gives the team more time and space to focus on the patients and families. Being part of that has made me appreciate how much goes into creating a supportive environment."
Thank you, Xavier, for the impact you continue make!
Happy National Volunteer Week! ๐๐
