Today, we remember and honor the life of Josue Flores. 💙
Nearly 10 years after his tragic passing, Josue’s memory continues to live on through the Josue Flores Memorial Park in the Near Northside community. Created in honor of his love for science and learning, the park serves as a place for children and families to gather, play, reflect, and celebrate his beautiful life.
Though he was taken far too soon at just 11 years old, Josue’s impact will never be forgotten.
His legacy continues to inspire our community and future generations.
Commissioner Garcia and the Precinct 2 family is heartbroken to hear about the passing of Mr. Warren Singleton.
We were very fortunate to have his Black History Month exhibit on display at our JD Walker Community Center through the years.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and our Baytown community.
We celebrated the groundbreaking of a new trail project that will improve pedestrian safety, connectivity, and mobility in the Deer Park community.
This project is another step toward creating safer and more accessible spaces for residents and families to enjoy.
Thank you to the @deerparktxgov for your partnership and commitment to building a safer, more connected community!
Big things are happening in Near Northside! 🚧✨
This groundbreaking was made possible through a partnership with the City of Houston on a $48 million infrastructure project that will transform the neighborhood.
This investment will upgrade drainage, rebuild streets, repair sidewalks, and improve lighting around Northside High School — making the community safer and stronger for the future.
This is part of Commissioner Adrian Garcia's Revive2Thrive initiative which focuses on improving neighborhoods through community engagement.
Happy Mother’s Day! Today, Commissioner Adrian Garcia proudly celebrates two incredible women who mean the world to him — his mother, María Ofelia Garcia, whose love and strength helped shape the man he is today, and his wife, Monica Garcia, a devoted mother whose care and dedication are the heart of their family.
To all the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our community, thank you for the endless love, sacrifices, and support you give every single day.
Wishing you a beautiful and joy-filled Mother’s Day!

His work helps ensure that deputies can respond quickly, roads are repaired efficiently, and public spaces remain safe and well-maintained for our community.
“My role is largely behind the scenes, but it directly supports the safety, mobility, and quality of life for Precinct 2 residents every day.” — Armando Arellano

It's Autism Awareness Month and we are highlighting the impact of inclusive parks in our community. Since taking office in 2019, Commissioner Garcia has prioritized making our parks more accessible so everyone can play!
We had an absolute blast participating in the annual Sylvan Beach Festival parade with the City of La Porte 🎉🌊
So much fun, great vibes, and the perfect way for families to come together and celebrate community.
Coffee, conversation, and community ☕️
Thank you to everyone who came out to Café with Commissioner Garcia! We appreciate everyone who joined us and took the time to connect, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.
Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Last week, we celebrated with our favorite nature preserve, Armand Bayou Nature Center. Recently, we partnered with Exxon to acquire a former oil and gas site that spans more than 1,100 acres.
This expansion now means ABNC is the largest urban nature preserve in Texas! The new land is being restored to help protect our community from flooding.
Thank you to our partners for making this possible, and to the volunteers who helped plant native Texas prairie grass to jump-start the restoration.
Moody Park isn’t just a park—it’s where memories are made.
For generations, families in our community have grown up here, and now a new chapter is on the way. Commissioner Garcia sits down with Council Member Mario Castillo to share their childhood memories and talk about what’s next for this special place. Big changes are coming—while honoring the memories that made it home.
We had an amazing time this weekend at Sylvan Beach enjoying an interactive, family-friendly experience filled with live demonstrations, performances, military displays, and so much more!
We were proud to partner with the @cityoflaporte to host the great event!
