Our woodwork group did a fantastic job this week, coming together to build two new benches for our garden space. Everyone played a part, supported one another, and worked hard from start to finish. It was great to see such teamwork, encouragement, and pride in what they achieved together. Teamwork really does make the dream work

Look at this incredible cake! It was made by our friend Gill Clusker to celebrate 60 years of Gateway Club! We particularly love the yellow plant pot with spring flowers in, just like ours! Congratulations Hastings Gateway - 60 years of celebrating friendship and connection in our community and Thank You for letting us share this wonderful photo!

At Hastings and Bexhill Mencap, we take professionalism very seriously. We believe high standards start with the example set by our senior team – which is why we’re proud to introduce our brand new staff uniform. The senior team have kindly stepped forward to model the new look so everyone can see exactly what will be expected moving forward. We think it really reflects the professionalism we’re known for. #whatsthedatetoday

This week we’re celebrating learning and development across our team! A group of staff and service users have successfully completed their Level 1 Makaton training, helping us strengthen the ways we communicate and support one another. Makaton is a wonderful tool that uses signs and symbols alongside speech, making communication more accessible and inclusive for everyone. We’re also incredibly proud of Emma, who has completed her Level 2 Adult Care Diploma apprenticeship with Distinction. Achievements like this take dedication and hard work, and we’re delighted to see her reach this milestone - congratulations Emma! If you’re interested in training opportunities or learning more about what we do, take a look at our website: /our-services/makaton-training
