I’ve been working with 🦉 Owl medicine since my early days, but it became much more pronounced after a shamanic power animal ceremony at Burning Man in 2019, when I had an unmistakably strong encounter with the Owl spirit — asking me to walk and work with them across all realms. ✨ My grandmother had been sending me owl totems for much of my life (and still does) — and over the years, I’ve been gifted many special owl figurines from loved ones around the world and from ceremonies I’ve helped facilitate. These days, I see owl feathers, paintings, and signs — and meet owl people — almost every week. I am so grateful for these winged teachers and their ability to see in the dark, explore infinite perspectives, and support transitions between realms.🌍🪶 It felt like another sweet stroke of synchronicity and magic to meet Rina during her personal brand shoot in Central Park. During my time on Lake Atitlán, I had the gift of staying in Satya’s beautiful home for a few days — just a short walk from the nature reserve. Mornings began with warm pastries, her kitten curled beside me, and playful pups greeting the day. We’d cross paths in the most organic ways — at drumming circles, in bakery lines, and along the winding paths that connect this magical town. Our rooftop cacao ceremony still moves me deeply. Photographing Satya that day — in her full expression, rooted in her medicine and prayer — felt like ceremony itself. Her presence carries such tenderness and quiet strength; witnessing her through the lens was pure heart medicine. I’m filled with gratitude for these threads of connection — for Karbin, whose care and intuition helped bring this experience to life, and for the way community effortlessly weaves itself when we follow what feels true.
