As we are only ONE SLEEP AWAY from the next small room session, we are SO excited to have Hannah Dienes-Williams (
@hdieneswilliamssoprano ) and Gregory May (
@gregmay2001 ) joining us to give the WORLD PREMIERE of āhope songsā, a song cycle with music by the formidable Zygmund de Somongyi (
@zdscomposer ) and poetry by the outstanding hazyn forsythe (
@hazynbee ).
The performance will have surtitles.

Soprano Hannah Dienes-Williams and pianist Greg May perform largely 20th and 21st century repertoire. As a duo, they have also premiered several pieces by contemporaries. Subsequent to a performance in Cambridge, in the spring of 2023, they were invited by the Paris Conservatoire to give a performance of Messiaenās Harawi, as part of a project uncovering the music of Yvonne Loriod.
Hannah is a London based soprano working across Europe as a soloist and ensemble singer, specialising in contemporary music. She graduated with Distinction in her MA from the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded the DipRam for her final recital, the Edlee Prize for Singing and the Edwin Samuel Dove Prize, selected from the whole of the Academy. From 2026 she is an Equilibrium Young Artist, sponsored by Barbara Hannigan.
Greg May is an award winning composer, musician and pianist with a particular interest in playing new music. As a composer, Gregās music has been played in countries including Croatia, Germany, and the USA, as well as UK venues including Kingās Place, Smith Square Hall, Milton Court Concert Hall, West Road Concert Hall, and Kettleās Yard, and has been broadcast on multiple occasions on BBC Radio 3.
