WHAT MAKES BEN’S ON-CAMERA INSIGHT SO VALUABLE? Ben Immanuel knows how to approach on-camera acting from every angle. As a multiple award-winning (13 wins, 9 nominations) actor/writer/director/producer and a top acting teacher for over 3 decades, Ben sees things from multiple perspectives. In addition to playing lead roles in theatrically-released feature films that have played top festivals including TIFF, Sundance, and Berlin, he has directed, among other film and TV projects, 3 of his own award-winning, theatrically released features, with his cast members always garnering wins and nominations for their standout performances. What makes Ben’s films unique is that they are truly actor-driven — as Ben says, “my films are more about faces than places”, and the close-up is Ben’s favourite way to tell stories and communicate emotion. Due to popular demand, Ben is now offering on-camera scene study classes, in addition to his other always sold-out scene study classes, at Haven Acting Studio. If you want to learn how to anchor your work in knowledge, preparation and specificity while also keeping it spontaneous, raw, and truthful, that’s Ben’s specialty. A long-time student of world-renowned teachers Ivana Chubbuck, Larry Moss and Patsy Rodenburg, Ben was taught that, in order to rise up to the requirements of great parts and do your best work, on-camera or on stage, there are no short cuts.
