To say we spent 10 minutes trying to decide if we should post the @newrootsatx yellow or the green bathroom first would be an understatement. Which one would you have picked? We learned something new about pediatric dentistry at @newrootsatx ! Infants get to have their own special room to see the Dentist. It’s meant to be calm and soothing for both the parent and baby. And, let’s be real, give everyone a little space to cry or have a nap. Maybe we all need our own infant rooms! Our biggest surprise of 2025 was more inquiries for commercial projects. Business owners looking to design commercial spaces that feel anything but. When Dr. Adam Parker of @newrootsatx pediatric dentistry reached out to us to design his new practice (now open in West Lake!), we were thrilled to jump on this unique project. Dr. Parker’s design requirements line up with his practice’s belief- natural, sustainable, local, handmade. We also loved his challenge for no tech entertainment in the lobby, which inspired to design this bank of vintage telephones, wired up to play Taylor Swift, K-Pop Demon Hunter and Bluey. A big thank you to @tribeza magazine for featuring us on their 10th Annual Interiors tour! Hard to believe we were on this tour 10 years ago and to reflect on all that we’ve seen and done since then. It’s been a minute since we re-introduced ourselves here. Hatch Works went into business 15 years ago, with Adam Talianchich (right) and Ashley Menger (left). It started as our escape “hatch” from our day jobs to design and build our own house. 28 houses later (including 3 more for ourselves) we’re still excited by the flow of different projects and people we meet, and the changes we’ve made along the way. Hatch Works now includes Dan Taylor (center), our project manager, Ashley joined full time 2 years ago, and we updated our logo.
