Cosmic Debris, Space Tangle exhibition, @UCL
Space Tangle brings together three distinct works by artist Dr Sarah Fortais: Cosmic Debris, Cosmic Flock, and Lunga 6. Cosmic Debris will also become the setting for the site-specific vocal work Fragments, composed and performed by Filament Theatre. These works all explore the often-hidden entanglements between people, place, animals, and materials that shape how we imagine and make future worlds.

I was totally blown away by Frank Auberbach’s Charcoal Heads exhibition at The Courtauld. I particularly love the self portrait which he did in 1958, description as follows:

Frank Auerbach had to patch up this heavily worked self-portrait three times, but it does not diminish its strength and coherence. He was only 27 when he made this remarkable work, yet he has the countenance of an older man. It embodies his commitment to creating drawings that carry a weight of human experience.
Auerbach made only three self-portraits during this period - two in charcoal and one in oil paint. He did not return to self-portraiture until he was in his seventies and considered his aging face to be a more interesting subject.

Add Color (Refugee Boat) by Yoko Ono conceived in 1960 but first realised in 2016, consists of a white-painted wooden boat, which the visitor can scribble on with a blue marker. The work was originally produced in the context of the global refugee crisis, but the latest iteration at Tate has been dominated by messages relating to the current crises in Ukraine and Gaza.
