Created in a single continuous motion: no lifting, no correction, just pure flow.
The snake, a symbol of protection & great renewal. Like the single brush stroke that gave it life, it moves with quiet precision: both balanced & calm with striking features to make it's presence known.
Set against deep black with lines of blooming gold, this piece reflects our current state of transformation...ready to shed what was & step into what’s next. 'Hitofude' Hebi ('One-Stroke' Snake) No.1 [2026 Series] - SOLD -
In Hitofude fashion, this piece was created in a single continuous motion: no lifting, no correction, just flow…a moment where I find my own peace of mind.
In Japanese culture, the snake is a symbol of protection & good health.
As this persistent winter finally draws to an end, I found myself daydreaming of what’s to come: the fast-approaching cherry blossom season. But as warmth begins to rise & clash with the last resistance of the fleeting frost, it births spontaneous violent storms…with booming thunder to wake up the remaining sleepers of hibernation.
And from this swirling chaos, a guardian was born: poised to strike, ensuring safe passage into the warmer seasons, so that life may flourish once again.
Though this particular piece has already left the collection, there are more from the 2026 Series on the way.
If one speaks to you, reach out before they’re gone. I make no digital prints or recreations of my Hitofude paintings so that each piece remains one of one, much like the moment it was created.

‘Hitofude’ Ryuu (‘One-Stroke’ Dragon) No.1 [2026 Series] -Reserved-
Drawn in a single continuous stroke: no lifting, no corrections. The entire form moves as one unbroken line.
The body of the dragon carries the feeling of this past winter — frigid, dense, & ever-present…like constant breath piercing the freezing air.
Condensate forms around the head & the icy orb it carries, capturing a transformative moment; that instant reaction where warmth meets the cold.
Snowfall trails behind the tail from a sudden violent flicker as the body thrashes upward, yet leaves the scene in seemingly uninterrupted stillness with only a slight gust of icy air left in it's wake.
In Japanese tradition, dragons are symbols of strength, protection, & prosperity, often moving between the seen & unseen.
This piece reflects unwavering endurance through treacherous conditions & coming into one's power admist navigating a cruel environment, ultimately rising above any adversary through courage & embracing self-discovery.
This is Dragon No.1 of the 2026 Series.
