Repost • @harvardlaw This March, the Harvard Law School Recording Artists Project Symposium brought together speakers at the intersection of music, entertainment, and law. The Recording Artists Project is a student practice organization serving musicians and entertainment clients. Students have the opportunity to practice hands-on legal work for real clients under the supervision of an experienced attorney. Featured in the line-up were musicians, entertainment and music lawyers, managers, and record label founders. Guest speakers included Patrick Flynn, frontman of bands Have Heart and Fiddlehead, Darius Van Arman, founder of Jagjaguwar and Secretly Group, and Jeffrey Casazza and Tom Chiari of Run For Cover Records. #Harvard #Law

Repost • @harvardlaw As co-presidents of the Recording Artists Project (RAP), a student practice organization serving musicians and entertainment clients, Anj Fink ‘26 and Shira Fischer ‘26 see the law as a tool to empower, protect, and expand access to artistic creation. “One of the most rewarding parts of our pro bono work is helping musicians regain control over their songs and careers, whether that’s clarifying rights ownership or navigating complex contracts,” said Anj and Shira. @HarvardRAP clients are often emerging artists at the beginning of their careers. By helping them understand legal paperwork and intellectual property issues, students help them maintain ownership of their work while creating a more equitable creative ecosystem. For many students, engaging in pro bono work grounds their legal education and bridges the gap between theory and practice. RAP also brings together students from both Harvard Law School and @BerkleeCollege , fostering a network of future lawyers and artists within the local community. “We both joined RAP pro bono teams during our 1L fall semester, drawn by a shared passion for supporting artists and exploring entertainment law through real-world work. Serving as co-presidents of the organization that has been such an important part of our law school journey feels full circle and deeply meaningful.” #NationalProBonoWeek
