Four Days in April
Thank you to @thisisamandaw for having me on the team to shoot @mostvaluablepromotions ’ US debut on ESPN. Endless love for the MVP crew, it feels damn good to be surrounded by the best of the best.
Yesterday was a milestone. I flew myself to Los Angeles as a broke teenager to find myself. 15 years later, I come back as a professional photographer shooting on Venice Beach for MVP MMA and Netflix. I’ve loved MMA since the early days of Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV. I watched every event I could from Strikeforce, EliteXC, PRIDE, DREAM, K-1, WEC, my tape collection was deep. I was in “work mode” (focused and mildly stressed) most of the day, until “When Eagles Dare” blared over the PA during Ronda Rousey’s judo workout. That’s when I snapped out of it and remembered the 18 years later old kid crashing in a Hollywood hostel. I’m still out here grinding, but the view is nicer now.
