The inky lines are of Scolt, an island some of us are obsessed by here in Norfolk UK. Black ink is Dr. Martin’s Black Star. The grey wash is Noodlers Lexington Grey 10:1 with water. All the rest just ideas. The shed is known here as The 600 where you make your own piece out of 600 bits of wood I have made that sit on the shelves. Come and look and talk .. or come and look and don’t talk obvs. . Booking system on my website.

First little piece made in The 600 that’s now installed in the new studio…. had to be a Hollyhock. Some of you will notice the new pink interior. Happy New Year folks. …………………….. ……………………………………………………..’The 600’ is the shorthand for ‘600 Pieces of Landscape’, an installation in a shed where you make your own abstract piece about any feeling you have about anything you like, using a few of the 600 pieces of Landscape that sit on the shelves. I use it as a starting point but it’s open to anyone who wants to play. It’s a meditative process where you just move things around and explore intention vs no intention, knowledge vs no knowledge, skill vs none whatsoever.
New studio and it’s big. It even fits the 600 installation (that’s the orange shed). I’ve brought everything here; all the tools and all the work, framed and unframed. That’s gallery space down the end. Let me know if you would like to come and look before Christmas and into New Year. DM or email. Visits can only be standard office days/ hours at the moment but that should change in the new year. Holkham btw. Massive thanks to MV. I am looking forward to this … ‘residency’?
