Supporting local businesses is something I really value! Since Harry and Kit opened their doors in 2019, I have often visited this local furniture and homewares boutique, with my beautiful Mum and Sister.
Every time you walk through their doors you truly do get transported to worlds away, with all the unique pieces Lil has carefully chosen. If you are ever going through Goondiwindi, I will always tell you that this is a must stop shop 🤍
Last night we hosted @hannahpuechmarin at our Goondiwindi store to celebrate the launch of her beautiful new book, The Garden Room.
It was such a special evening spent under the stars, surrounded by so many lovely people. We chatted with Hannah about her journey as a photographer and now author, listened to the stories behind the pages, and shared plenty of laughs along the way.
With drinks flowing, beautiful nibbles by @kitschgoondiwindi and a store full of warm conversation, it really was one of those nights that reminds us how much we love bringing people together.
Every sourcing trip teaches us a little more about the different cultures, the way people once lived day to day, and how so many of these old pieces were originally used in everyday life years ago. Take these old Chinese carry baskets which were originally used throughout village life to cart everything from grain after harvest to fresh fruit and vegetables from local markets. They were everyday essentials. A household item constantly being carried from home to field and back again. In a way, they were the paper grocery bags of their time.
We love imagining the lives these baskets have lived over the years, with all the worn handles, aged timber and imperfections that come from being genuinely used every single day.
A few little corners of our Goondiwindi store lately 🤎
Things have been feeling extra cosy as the cooler weather rolls in. Lamps switched on earlier, layers of old timber, linen and pieces collected from here and there.
Sometimes we forget how special it is to have this little space in a country town.
