'An Insight Into Hillfields Estate' - A Film by Harry Tatem 🎞️ When I arrived in Coventry in 2021, I stumbled upon Hillfields Estate while cycling around the city, searching for creative inspiration. As I dug deeper into the area’s story, I uncovered a rich history rooted in music and culture, alongside the pressing challenges faced by its community. During my three years at university, I had the privilege of connecting with many inspiring people and these encounters shaped the heart of this film, which I’m proud to call my best work yet. Through a blend of fantastical elements and raw, observational footage, the film captures the struggles and resilience of life in one of the most deprived estates in the West Midlands. I owe a huge thank you to @teedemba for his enthusiasm, openness in sharing his story, and for introducing me to so many incredible people who brought this project to life. I’m also deeply grateful to @positiveyouthuk and @hillzfm for their contributions to the documentary’s educational foundation. Directed by Harry Tatem 🎞️ My first showreel with only directing work! 2025 was a learning year, finding new approaches to music videos and documentary production, and getting the chance to shoot abroad in countries like Japan and Portugal. I also managed to work enough to invest heavily in travel and new equipment, which has opened up a lot more creative freedom for me in 2026. I can’t wait to make even more work with it. Huge thank you to all the artists, managers, fellow directors, and everyone I collaborated with this year.
