Always learn so much from each go ‘round
I learned the importance of good drum mics (overheads), power of good phase alignment, how much bigger outboard eqs are on everything, re-amping into reverbs and delay pedals, phase alignment, parallel compression, how important good bass strings are, ribbon mic behavior, hardware compressors on different subgroups, calibrating a mixer, phase alignment, not to overuse the Rupert neve red silk on every single track next time, sry, and how little I trust my own sense of tonal balance. nothing about recording and mixing sound is natural, it’s black magic. yet the songwriting part is so simple. hmm
