I didn’t get fired, I got laid off okay.
But in all seriousness (kinda), I will miss playing more than anything. But, I will miss competing with my friends even more. Every year when guys would get let go, my first thought was “damn I will probably never see them again in my life”. And when I got told to kick rocks, that was my first thought. Every single person that I played with and played under made an impact on my life. And it sucks knowing that I won’t be able to do that anymore with them.
Thank you to the Marlins (the front office that signed me) for always believing in me and always putting me in a position to succeed at the highest level. If only I could hit a little bit better…
All in all, I will miss my friends and the locker room more than anything. Thank you to the boys who made the last 4 seasons the best experience I could’ve ever asked for. Sucks knowing that I will never get a job that my co-workers will call me ‘White Chocolate’ ever again.
