February 12, 2024. I'm proud of the steps I've taken to address my mental, physical, and spiritual well-being over the past 6 months. As someone who grew exhausted of falling into a pattern of distracting myself from geniune self-care, here's a small piece of advice: the hardest part about anxiety and mood swings is making the commitment to START prioritizing yourself. Don't feel guilty. Being there for others will be more fulfilling and meaningful when you've arrived at a more settled place within yourself. Kindness is key. When I was a kid, my mom gave me this beautiful hand-crafted Nutcracker music box for Christmas. I wanted a Lego set or a scooter, so I was devastated. She told me, “Nutcracker is such a big part of your childhood. One day you’ll understand.”
…She was right. 😅 Now we’re knee-deep in Nutcracker season at NYCB, and every night I’m blown away by the dancers grinding through pointe shoes and shaking snow out of their eyelashes (literally). I used to scurry around as a mouse. I like to think my mouse prowess eventually led me to my current rep of Drosselmeier and the Cavalier. 🐭🎄🧀 What people don’t see is the army behind the scenes: Snow, Flowers, Marzi, Mother Ginger… plus stage managers, lighting, costumes, makeup, porters, orchestra, ushers, carpenters, fundraisers, ticket sales—everyone who keeps this show alive after 70+ years. All so I can glide around stage to Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece and, with a little wrist magic, switch my scarf from green/yellow to blue/red—and somehow turn a 2,500-seat theater into a cozy living room.

Thank you, @quadrockballet , for welcoming me into your world. I’m still processing the whole experience — from flying to London on October 20th and being whisked straight from the plane to my first rehearsal (the fight scene 😵💫) to taking final bows at City Center just 27 days later.
The cast of @quadrockballet is a company of individual artists who offer their most authentic selves to a piece that’s ultimately about finding oneself and finding belonging — whether through companionship, friendship, or community. Reconciling our own doubts and moments of self-loathing is such a universal struggle, and if anything helped me navigate those feelings, it was working with this company.
Every member of this team put their whole heart into the work because they knew it had something to say — something relatable, something with the power to move people in a world where numbing ourselves or giving up can feel like the easiest option.
I feel revived. Thank you for the laughs, the inspiration, and the memories.
