This one is called “Back in the Room”. It’s about being sober. I loved writing this one. It feels like something I wouldn’t normally do but that’s the beauty of the song in a day concept.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed writing this one. When a song like this comes from a voice note I recorded on the way to pick up my kids from school, that’s all I need in order to know that I want to write songs for the rest of my life.

“Christmas Through Your Eyes”
If you watched the making of video for this song, you would’ve heard me talk about the fact I didn’t used to like the Christmas period.
I’m not entirely sure why, something didn’t sit right, but since having children I love it again, like full-blown I’m dressing up as Santa this evening because my son is planning to film the Christmas tree all night to prove to us that Santa isn’t real.
Any way, I now see Christmas through their eyes and it’s fun again.

We’re not as quick as AI but let’s write a song in a day ep3.
This week’s song is called “Over the Moon” and I really like it.
Decided to do something a little bit different this week. More upbeat, dancey, vibes basically.
The beauty of doing these songs in a day is that I’m approaching writing from a whole different perspective. I’m used to meticulously plugging away over one line or getting caught up on a snare drum sound for 6 hours. But this has taught me, first instinct often times is the best instinct.
Some of these songs will make long term projects, some won’t. I also find that very exciting.
