Nash VFX asked us to help develop the new VW Nivus shaders, which accurately depict the car's beauty while being physically realistic enough to make it believable on screen.
We built several buildings and used some CGI tricks to create beautiful reflections of the cars on the screen.
We utilized our brand-new USD pipeline to pull several shots quickly, creating watertight USD scenes that were error-free and ready to be uploaded to the GridMarkets render farm. The system enabled us to adapt to the project's fast turnarounds and deliver all the shots on time.

Making CG cars look believable is no easy task. To achieve those beautiful Nivus shots in the ad, we had to rebuild the buildings outside the camera view and add several light tunnels to help bring out nice, shiny reflections.
