The Festival Fantôme shows at @gavanshotel and @studio_cimetiere on Oct 31, Nov 1, Nov 7 and Nov 8 will feature live stage projections by Hard Science (aka Arturo Brisindi).
Hard Science visuals is a reverie in ruin, where time flickers and melts to a ballet of hazy circuits, swirling noise and lucid glitch, jacking your consciousness into a haunted VCR.
Cameras capture the performers on stage in real time as Hard Science transforms live video feedback into a psychedelic kaleidoscopic dreamscape projected back onto the stage and walls—turning the venue into a living, breathing signal loop. Throughout this audiovisual alchemy, he manipulates an arsenal of analog and digital hardware, including:
• LZX Modular Video Synth – especially the Memory Palace and Visual Cortex modules, for deep-layered effects and pixel-level manipulation
• Edirol V4 Video Mixer – a compact workhorse for layering and video feedback
• Panasonic AG-MX70 – for bold, stylized mixing with built-in digital FX that push distortion to painterly extremes
• Tachyons+ Vortex Decoder – a circuit-bent visual processor that injects raw analog chaos and unpredictable color warping
• BPMC Fluxus – a glitch video FX unit that mutates footage into pulsing waves of feedback and digital haze
• Sony DVI-D70 & D100 PTZ Cameras – remotely operated cameras capturing the performance from dynamic angles
• Sony RM-BR300 Controller – for live pan-tilt-zoom control, enabling precise camera movement during audiovisual improvisation

I’ve had this Memorymoog Plus sitting around unused for over 1.5 years due to some issues that made it unplayable. Thought I’d give repairing it a crack and ended up successfully fixing all of the issues, even the minor ones I was ok with overlooking. I have some very classic synths (Prophet 5, OBXa, MKS80, Jupiter 4), but this blows them all out of the water. Aside from maybe the CS80, this is the best sounding synth in existence. .
