Showing a work from my ELEMENTAL series with @ronchinigallery at @dallasartfair
Constructed from screen, paint, and elemental metals, the work directs reflected light into a controlled visual field, where material recedes and the subject resolves as light itself.

@ronchini presents LIGHTFORMS—Hap Tivey and Gu Xiaoping in dialogue. Their works form a quiet field of perception in which light, through colour and space, becomes both medium and experience.
Preview 3 March | LightForms: Hap Tivey & Gu Xiaoping
Ronchini is proud to bring American artist Hap Tivey, and Chinese artist Gu Xiaoping together for the first time in a duo-exhibition grounded in formal concerns of light, colour, and structure.
Xiaoping’s minimalist works are rooted in traditional techniques, including the use of Modou (墨斗), the traditional Chinese ink measuring tool, exerted with Sisyphean repetition, resulting in pieces that mirror the precision of modern technology, while revealing, upon closer inspection, the inimitable trace of human touch.
Tivey, a forefather of Los Angeles light artists, has been working with light and space since the 1970s, collaborating with the likes of James Turrell. Having practiced as a Zen monk in Kyoto, Tivey produces meditative auras where elemental forms and dynamic colour can be fully experienced.
We are pleased to welcome both artists for the opening preview. Save the date!
