Our THANG of the Week is the SYROCO PARSONS TABLE produced in the 1960s! Syroco (Syracuse Ornamental Company) had many chapters as a manufacturing company. Gaining traction in the 1930s, they patented a molded wood-pulp material that was used for decorative and functional items like mantelpieces and corkscrews. In the 1960s, they pivoted to injection molded plastics and more modern home goods. They even launched a "Lady Syroco" line of home products as well as a lawn furniture collection. The best identifier for this Syroco Parsons table is the injection mold 'nipple' you'll find on the underside of the table. No seams anywhere, just one solid piece of color pigmented plastic through and through. It differentiates itself from other Parsons-style tables by being a single piece of sturdy plastic with angular legs (as opposed to the square legs commonly found on the classic IKEA Parsons table) These tables are kind of hard to find, especially in fun colors, which makes this a really special piece!
