The Whistle Range has officially entered the chat 🫨 Last week at @albertastreetpub was my first time debuting my whistle register live onstage! I discovered this new register that opened up above my head voice about a year ago. It was extremely shrill and unwieldy but I continued to work on getting a handle on it and it’s really starting to turn into something amazing now. Had to try it on this new original piece of mine! It’s more than a head voice. I access it in a completely different way and it feels incredibly freeing. Almost like my vocal cords aren’t touching at all, which can also make it really hard to control and the reason I waited so long to show it off, lol. I can’t wait to watch myself hone it more. 💗 Saturday was a manifestation of a dream I had been reaching for since I was a little girl and realized I, too, could be onstage like the people I looked up to. The schooling and the degree is an incredible accomplishment but those who attended this event would agree this was certainly more of a show than a school recital. I felt like I finally broke through to one of the purest versions of myself I have yet to find onstage. There is still so much work left to do and so much growth I see myself capable of in my future, but this weekend felt like leveling up 👆 Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me through this journey. I can’t wait to release my next album! It will be unlike anything you’ve heard from me yet in the best possible way 🎶 Thank you @amaurseth for your support and love and for getting this incredible shot of the highest note of the most dramatic song from my recital. Kingsley and Hannah DiMo on stage last night at The Old Church. The Old Churchs' donor appreciation night was an opportunity for staff to show off their many artistic talents. Hannah, in addition to being a very busy fine young voice in town, is the Music Buyer for TOC. Kingsley is a former employee who is now a rising touring musician. Sadly, Kingsley no longer calls Portland home. A dreamy February @writersroundpdx is upon us with @awkward_elf_ , @hannahdimo , and @kylejglenn . Writers ‘Round PDX is a songwriting, storytelling showcase with open and feature rounds where songwriters are encouraged to share the stories and processes behind their songs. Each round consists of three performers, playing one song at a time. This free event is all-ages and takes place every first Wednesday at @arbor_beer_lodge . 🎸 Open rounds start at ~7 PM – bring your guitars and stories and throw your name in the @pdxsongwriters  hat for a chance to play! (We should have a keyboard to use as well)

Our third featured artist for Feb 4th is the dynamic singer-songwriter Hannah DiMo! @hannahdimo is a versatile artist blending neo-soul, indie rock, and R&B with a touch of jazz sophistication. Inspired by the soulful sounds of Lianne La Havas, Yebba, and the dynamic energy of Beyoncé, Hannah’s music is a reflection of her diverse influences. A recent graduate of Portland State University with a degree in Jazz Studies, she has been captivating audiences onstage and in the studio for over 15 years. Her work has gained recognition on local radio, and she is an active collaborator in Portland’s vibrant music scene, contributing to a variety of projects across multiple genres. Part of the @writersroundcommunity , Writers Round PDX is a Nashville-style songwriting, storytelling showcase hosted by @ronniecarrierofficial  and @bengracemusic , with curated and open rounds.
