time to get mushy
for those of u that know me u know i’ve been involved in local music for almost 10 years at this point, and this is easily the best collective/group i’ve been a part of. so much cool creativity from even cooler people. this compilation captured what me and all my people do so perfectly.
in around 2023-2024 i wanted something new and fresh. i had been a part of punk and hardcore scenes my whole life but wanted to go deeper into the world of experimental music. low and behold a flyer for a show came up on my TL with a band called Carrion Cathedral on it. they had this video on their page of them sampling a jar of mayonnaise (lol) and once i saw that i knew where to start looking. i went to the show and there met my now good friend Ryan (@tied_awake ) who was the singer for Carrion Cathedral
Without this core moment of going to that show at the Speakeasy Lounge i would’ve never found this scene and been able to spread my wings in a genre ive always wanted to do. I met so many cool fellas. Jordan, Johnathon, Lance, Rudy, Hank, Wes, Ryan, etc (sorry if i forgot ur name, a lot of people to remember lol). Who knew that in modesto ca of all places there would be a scene for this kinda stuff. i’m so glad there is and i’m going to continue to push it for as long as i can, because not many scenes have made me feel welcomed as much as this one did.
thank u jordan and ryan for organizing this, and thank you to everyone involved in it for sending tracks through. could not be more proud of the little scene that we’ve built/are currently building

For this record i strayed away from the harshness to craft a more traditional record. More melody, with the remaining experimentation being rooted in ambient music rather than noise
