We are thrilled to celebrate with Cherie DeVaux becoming the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby and Jose Ortiz and Irad Ortiz Jr. becoming the first brothers to win 1st and 2nd place at such a meaningful event.
We are particularly proud of the brothers as they were born and raised in Puerto Rico, the island that made both Marie and I (Carlos) who we are today.

Twas the night before vows were spoken. The night before forever began. Lauralee and Collier gathered with their closest family and friends inside the timeless beauty of @oxfordexchange for an intimate and elegant rehearsal dinner in the heart of Tampa. Known as one of the most iconic wedding venues in Tampa, @oxfordexchange set the perfect backdrop for a night that felt both refined and deeply personal.

But the moment that stilled the entire room didn’t happen under the chandeliers. It happened over a phone call. Colliers grandfather, unable to attend due to health concerns, called to tell his grandson how proud he was of the man he’d become, and to offer a few words of advice for this soon to be husband. And as he spoke, something beautiful unfolded. Cousins and friends slowly gathered around Collier. Arms wrapped around shoulders, heads leaned in close. A quiet show of strength, legacy and family.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Moments like this are why I love documenting rehearsal dinners, and wedding weekends. The guard is down. The anticipation is building. The meaning is potent. Lauralee and Collier, thank you for trusting me with your wedding weekend. And I would be remiss to not acknowledge the incredible group of vendors who made this evening possible.
