This week, our NYSD Fanwood students and staff members experienced the magic of Broadway and it was a day to remember! Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Theater Development Fund (TDF) Fanwood attended a matinee performance of Disney's Aladdin on Broadway! What made this day truly extraordinary is that the performance was fully interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL) by the talented professionals at Hands On Sign Interpreted Performances, Inc., giving every single one of our students and staff members full language access to a live Broadway experience. For our students, seeing this beloved story come to life in their language on one of the world's greatest stages was nothing short of breathtaking. Live theater broadens perspectives, fosters cultural literacy, and cultivates a lifelong appreciation of the arts. Our students and staff members felt all of that magic firsthand. * * #Aladdin #Broadway #ASL #FullLanguageAccess #DeafEducation #ASLEnglish #DeafCulture #BilingualEdcuation #TeacherAppreicationWeek #StaffAppreciationWeek @tdfnyc @handsonsign @disneyonbroadway @aladdin
